Coaching for ADHD and High Sensitivity
For people who are on the neurodivergent spectrum, everyday life can sometimes feel like an emotional rollercoaster. This image is particularly familiar to HSPs („Higher Sensitive Persons“ according to Dr. Elaine Aron) and people with AD(H)D. Both phenomena bring their challenges, but also have immense potential for personal and professional growth.
As a systemic mental health coach, I support you in gaining a clear view of your uniqueness. Together we explore how you can use your peculiarities as a source of strength instead of seeing them as an obstacle. My methods are designed to give you not only more self-acceptance, but also concrete tools for everyday life.
ADHD vs. High Sensitivity – Similarities and Differences
The spectra of high sensitivity and ADHD bring with them similar challenges in some areas, but differ in key points. While the psychological phenomenon of high sensitivity is understood according to the current state of research as a collection of certain personality traits and expressly NOT as a diagnosis, ADHD is a neurobiological disorder that affects attention and impulse control. Both groups are very sensitive to external stimuli and often have difficulty finding their way in the loud, hectic world. HSPs are able to adapt to external expectations with a particularly high expenditure of energy and are therefore very skilled in so-called „masking“. They are very creative and capable, but often suppress their own ideas and needs in order not to overwhelm those around them or to be rejected out of fear. With ADHD there is a little less room for maneuver. In certain situations, focus and prioritization are simply not possible.
In coaching, we work on understanding these differences and developing individual strategies so that you can develop your potential. Whether you are looking for structure to master your everyday life or a deeper understanding of your sensitivity – I will accompany you in your growth process.
